Pay enormous amounts for high end productsĪfter nine (!) months of waiting I finally received my present. Prefer less expensive lenses / safe some money for a thermal imager, binoculars … Often need high light levels / heavy lenses Need photos to prove their sightings and for IDing their motivesĭon’t mind to get a perfect shot, but are usually content when their target species is full frameīecause of 2, 3, 6, 7: like small, compact, lightweight lenses Spend more time with a given motif / spend more time in hides Often travel in groups and have to share space in a carĬover more distance / have less time at one spot / want to be maneuverable Often spend more time with a given species / individual ![]() Often focus on finding as many species as possible in a given time The following table presents some of these differences – as I see them: ![]() I give it a try.Īt first let me explain why I believe mammal watchers have special needs concerning photo equipment / lenses and why they are different to those of wildlife photographers.
